And this year’s 100+ Film Fest viewers choice award goes to...

MANILA, Philippines - It’s out!  100+ Plus International Film Festival, the first International Online Christian Film Festival asking young Christian film makers: "What’s your vision for the next 100 years?", as produced by WM Communications Asia Pacific (WMC-AP) to celebrate the Nazarene Centennial, announced the winners on October 2008.

Participants competed in two categories; One Minute Challenge and Short Film.  Marco Avellaneda of Argentina bagged the first prize in the One Minute Challenge category with his film entitled, "The Match".  In the Short Film category, Nikole Lim  from the USA got the coveted first prize with her entry entitled, "True".

For the viewer’s choice which was selected from all entries in the two categories, the prize went to the film entitled, "Veo" (I See) by Andres Fernandez of Costa Rica.

A total of eight finalists entered their films to show their vision of the future through the medium. One came from the Philippines, two from the USA,  and one each from Korea, Thailand, Costa Rica, Guatemala, and Argentina.

Furthermore, a special 30 minute film from another participant hailed in the Philippines was also featured as an inspirational testimony.

Nine international judges who are professionals in the film and media industry were able to participate in the judging process.  The Viewer’s Choice on the other hand, were determined by the online audience themselves who viewed the 100+ Plus Film Fest online.

The webisodes began airing in September.   Steph Henares, a QTV 11 VJ; and Jordan Escusa,  Perfect Rhythm DJ, introduced the film entries and the winners on the website.  They also made a live appearance and introduced some of the film entries during the Metro Manila district’s joint centennial celebration on October 5, 2008 at the grounds of Asia Pacific Nazarene Theological Seminary.

WMC-AP, the producer of the Film Festival, wishes to thank its partners: The Jesus Film Harvest Partners International, Fairbanks International School of Communications, Nazarene Youth International, Avid Singapore, White Windows, all regional WM Communications offices, and all the international judges for supporting the event.
