NaCls (pronounced as “knuckles”) just recently bagged the national grand finals berth at the Asian Beat band competition held in Makati, Philippines. They will represent the country to compete with other Asian nations for the Asian Beat Grand Finals, to be held in Taiwan, on March 9, 2008.

The other bands who were among the top eight and competed with NaCls were Pancake 80, Kadangyan, Pnutz, Dalandan Soda, Haze, Pitch Melba, and Day 7. They were from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. They were all among the semifinalists who won in the Manila, Cebu, and Davao Asian Beat events.
According to the official press release from the organizers, the Asian Beat Band Competition is an annual event jointly sponsored by Yupangco Music Corporation and Yamaha Corporation Japan, showcasing amateur bands in a competition setting held in Asian countries such as China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mongolia, Singapore, Taiwan and the Philippines. Qualifying rounds were held in all regions. The National Finals is organized by Yupangco Music Corporation and Yamaha Corporation Japan, jointly sponsored with DEL MONTE Light & Fit Juices, SUMMIT Drinking Water, PULP Magazine, REGINES Condominium, NSS Shoes, SENNHEISER Microphones and SABIAN Cymbals.this post was filed under Around The Region on Dec 19, 2007
