Twelve pastors of the Central Visayas District gathered together at the Visayan Nazarene Bible College in Cebu City, Philippines during their first pastors meeting of the New Year. Foremost on their agenda was the topic of holiness. To set the stage, the pastors viewed a holiness message on DVD that was delivered by Dr. Jesse Meddendorf at the Holiness Summit West Conference last September in Colorado Springs.
The message brought a new sense of encouragement among the pastors present in that meeting to revive the Holiness proclamation in their pulpits. There was also a sense of realization that this revival will start afresh if among the pastors themselves the message of holiness is fully reflected. Pastor Jerry Tingson said “ I cant understand why we have lost the passion of proclaiming the message of holiness!” He further added that “ it seems we are stuck in proclaiming salvation but not giving the full message of salvation which includes holy living.”
This gathering sealed the beginning of a movement among the pastors of Central Visayas to regularly meet and listen to other sermons of the Holiness Summit, anticipating the Holy Spirit’s movement to bring revival, starting first amongst the pastors.
All the messages of the Holiness Summit West have been packaged in a 3-DVD set by World Mission Communications (Asia-Pacific) and are currently available in English only for pastors and church leaders on the Asia-Pacific Region. Plans are under way to translate and subtitle these holiness messages in a variety of languages on the region, including Korean, Japanese, Thai, Indonesian and others.
