Just as I was falling into a deep "Rumpelstiltskin sleep", I was startled awake. Do you know how it feels to hear the phone ring at six o'clock in the morning when you've been up til three o'clock the night before? I felt scatter brained, sabog-sabog! I was still half asleep and struggling to keep my eyes open, still trying to figure out where I was and who I was, when I heard a hoarse, croaky, "Yeah, hello," and then realized it was my own raspy voice answering the phone. The cheerful, wide awake voice on the other end said, "Good morning, I am calling for 702DZAS. Are you ready to pray?"
Was this a practical joke? Who would ask me to pray at this impossible time in the morning? Then it hit me”I had committed to pray via phone patch for the youth of the nation on air”on national radio”and I had totally forgotten. At first I thought it would be just a short minute or two prayer, but as it turned out, I was asked to pray for five to seven minutes! Plus, I was to pray mainly in Tagalog! Perfect! It's not that I can't pray that long, but I was just caught off guard. Besides Tagalog is really tough for me!
When the time came to pray, I just somehow forgot about the frog in my throat and poured out my heart. I forgot about my lack of sleep. I forgot it was early in the morning. I just prayed. I guess it's a good thing that the Holy Spirit doesn't sleep.

I was kind of expecting that not many heard my national radio prayer. At least no one I knew would be listening at 6 o'clock in the morning. All my friends would certainly be sound asleep. But go figure, some people started confirming to me they had heard my prayer. They even said it went okay. DZAS recorded the prayer and told me they would play it whenever there was prayer time for the youth.
You know, we gotta be ready to pray at any moment when it's called for! And since prayer is called for at any time, any where”we always gotta be praying. No getting caught off guard or having trouble knowing how to pray. If we are conditioned prayer soldiers, we'll be ready to render a prayer at any moment. The question is, "Are you alert and ready to pray? What about right now?"

"Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak" (Matt. 26:41 NIV).
"And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints" (Eph. 6:18 NIV).

Now in case you hear a frog praying on AM radio, remember it might be just me trying to "pray continually" (1 Thess. 5:17 NIV).
