Marlene Francisco, an artist - missionary and co-founder of Mission Acts 1:8 Ministries in the Philippines is launching her album entitled "Listen To My Heart" this Saturday, 3-5pm, October 20, 2007 at the Breadcom Center, Level 6 Car Park area at Shangri-La Plaza Mall, Mandaluyong City, Philippines.

Marlene is an advertising alumnus of University of Santo Tomas and has 17 years of advertising experience before going into full time mission work.  She  is  married  to  Dan Francisco who  heads  the mission group,  an  artist and  a  tentmaker himself   for  the various  mission  group outreaches  including  art - related events.

As she heard God’s call to expand Acts 1:8’s ministry horizon, Marlene is now venturing into evangelistic ministry through music.  She has written nine songs which she believes were impressed upon her heart by the Holy Spirit to write.  In view of reaching the young generation, she put together these songs in a progressive and alternative Christian rock album aimed to rock the spirits and empower the souls of the young. Backed up by her husband and her two teenage boys, they are venturing together into this new ministry.

As she herself testifies from the heart, "Music is the world’s universal language, a powerful force that brings all of us together for it knows no race, color, or boundaries. No one should be without music…for music soothes and speaks to every soul, it rocks and it heals…"

Young instrumentalists from different churches also partnered with her and backed her up in order to finish the album for release to the people that they intend to reach. The young musicians were Mhackee Florendo on keyboards, the head of music ministry at the Assemblies of God in Angono, Rizal; Rico Caringal on guitars, also actively involved in the Assemblies of God in Binangonan, Rizal; Tzabby  Tinio on drums, director of music ministry at the Darangan Christian  Community Church in Binangonan, and Jeric Patoc  on bass, also from the Assemblies of God in Angono.  They have  previously  worked as  teammates  in different  evangelistic  meetings for  the  past  years  since the  mission group  was  launched  into   the   mainstream of  Christian  ministry. Former  bass  and acoustic  player  Dencio  Pedrigosa now  works  in Abu  Dhabi.

The event is sponsored by FEBC Philippines, 702 DZAS, NU107, Hershey's, Bellevue Salon, Fax & Parcel, Watercolors, and supported by WM Communications AP.
