Sangamdong Work And Witness Team Visits WMC
Thirty-two Work & Witness delegates from
Sangamdong
Church of the Nazarene in
South Korea
came to visit WMC Studios earlier this Summer as part of their official schedule
for the day.
Assistant Professor Kwon Dong Hwan, Director of the Fairbanks School of
Communication (FSC) at Asia Pacific Nazarene Theological Seminary
(APNTS), who also happens to be a member of the same church, had the privilege
of touring his pastors and church mates around WMC’s media facility.
Sangamdong
Church is special to WMC as a partner in
ministry because they helped equip the main control room of our
new media center before its operation began in 2004. Computers and digital
recording machines were acquired through their generous monetary gift. So the tour was also meaningful to them as they were able to see the fruits of their
generosity. Our staff gladly auditioned some sample radio programs, ministry videos
and audio projects produced at WMC, and also presented each member with small souvenirs as tokens of gratitude for their visit and support.
Work & Witness Director for Asia Pacific,
Greg Taylor also gave the group a short orientation
inside the WMC studio about the APNTS housing project and other general
guidelines for teams to be reminded of during their stay in the
Philippines.
Mr. Taylor expressed that due to the challenge in verbal communication, a
simple “smile” can be a powerful witness.
The team was in the
Philippines as part
of the construction and repair project for the resident families of professors at APNTS.
In addition, the Sangamdong team was able to participate in an evangelistic event at a
depressed area in Payatas, a former dumpsite in
Quezon City,
wherein the
Church of
Nazarene has an
existing ministry headed by Pastor Gomez. While there, the team gave relief goods to
the needy in the area, assisted by some
of our MACC (Master in Christian Communication) students.
