VJ Nikki Gil rallied for 36 young women who bravely wrote their life’s challenging journeys and convert them to inspiring devotional testimonies in a compilation, entitled Young Women on the Journey.

Young Women on the Journey was launched last Saturday, May 26, 2007 at the Powerbooks Live! Greenbelt, Makati. Musician Julianne and Close-Up to Fame finalist Ami Chouravong were among those 18-30 years old writers who faced critical roadblocks on their journeys and lived to tell and inspire women who are also going through the same circumstances. Rejection, heartbreaks, and ridicule for what one stands for are some of the crises that these young writers address as they face uncertainties and daunting experiences from childhood through college, career, and love life. Simple yet vital queries in a young woman’s mind like: “Who am I?”, or “Am I beautiful and worthwhile?” are some of the decisive questions discussed as they require important choices that affected these young women’s future. Furthermore, “these women guide readers on how to resolve these issues of self-worth, identity, and significance by depending on God” said Mrs. Michelle Ocampo-Joaquin, the editor of the said devotional guide. Mrs. Joaquin also introduced all the women writers to around 50 participants who graced the occasion.

The devotional book comes from a tradition of the well-loved devotional series called Women on the Journey. It is published by Church Strengthening Ministries (CSM), a partner of WM Communications Asia-Pacific.

Young Women on the Journey is available in all Powerbooks outlets nationwide. For interested parties who wish to purchase Young Women on the Journey in bulk, you can call CSM at 512-1502 and look for Mark Rivera.
