WM Communications Asia-Pacific, a non-stock, non-profit media organization, has its roots from a humble vision of Dr. Lebron E. Fairbanks, then the president of Asia Pacific Nazarene Theological Seminary (APNTS).  He had a vision to establish a media center at APNTS that would train students from around the region to effectively communicate the gospel in their own countries and contexts.  His was a shared vision by former Regional Director, the late Dr. George Rench, and Mr. Ray Hendrix, then director of the World Mission Broadcast (WMB).

In April 1993, the World Mission Division (WMD) of the Church of the Nazarene deployed a couple to the Asia Pacific Regional Office (APRO) to develop this ministry.  APNTS provided the building; WMB provided the funding for equipment; WMD provided the personnel; and APRO provided the supervision. With these, the Fairbanks Media Center (FMC), - now known as WM Communications (Asia Pacific) - came into being.

After a year of construction and equipping, FMC was dedicated for service in January 1994.  The operation of the center started by producing radio programs for Fiji, Baguio, and Iligan.  Afterwhich, FMC opened its facility to sponsor the region’s only MA Christian Communication (MACC) program. It provided hands-on training in the areas of radio, video, TV and literature production; professional videos for education, community service, promotions and evangelism; scholarships for MACC students; and collaborative project opportunities with various denominations, missions & media organizations.

In 2002, the media center began gearing up for expansion and started constructing a bigger facility at the basement of the NCEE Building inside the APNTS Campus. It also adopted a new name for global identification. It changed from FMC to WM Communications Asia-Pacific (WMC AP).

Two years thereafter, WMC AP completed the construction and moved into the brand new 600 square meter multi-media production facility as it was officially dedicated and opened in November 2004. It enabled more capacity for quality production, personnel, and training. Since then, with its 17 radio programs in 28 locations, over 60 video productions, and over 87 completed literature projects, WMC AP continues to expand its ministry and services, offering new media productions, podcasts, cellphone contents, training videos, web development, print and graphics design, and partnerships.
