Part 1

Hello, good day to all. Welcome to another Lent episode of Life in a Minute, with Emily.

Narinig na ba nating yung phrase na self-made man or self-made millionaire?  Alam nyo madalas ginagamit natin itong terms na ‘to sa mga successful na tao who made it to the top sa pamamagitan ng sarili nilang efforts at kakayahan.  Now, the question is, is there such a self-made man na tinatawag? Or baka naman yung mismong sarili natin eh we consider as self-made person? Siguro kung sa description natin kanina, magandang example dito si Peter sa Bible? How well do we know him?

Sa pagbabalik ng Life in a Minute mamaya, we’ll get to know more of Peter okay. Keep listening!

Part 2

Back here mga kaibigan, this is still Big Sound bringing you big thoughts on Life in a Minute with Emily syempre.

One best example of self-made man in the Bible is Peter. Very strong ang personality nya.  He’s a fisherman na napaka-aggressive, always first to speak up and act. Sya yung matatandaan nating nagpakita ng faith to walk on water. Sya rin ang unang nag-confess that Jesus is the Messiah. Sya ang nakahuli ng napakaraming fish during a miraculous catch. At he even tried to defend Jesus with a sword.  Si Peter din ang nag-claim na handa syang mamatay para kay Jesus. Pero sa kabila ng lahat ng ito, Peter’s good intentions failed him.

I’ll tell you why, later when Life in a Minute returns mamaya, dyan lamang po kayo.

Part 3

Life in a Minute, on its third hit, sa episode natin about Peter.

Alam nyo po, despite Peter’s strong will, nag-fail din yung magagandang intentions nya. Siguro minsan, tulad din tayo ni Peter, we consider ourselves strong & self-reliant, akala natin kayang-kaya na natin. Pero si Peter, he learned through testing at narealized nya na bale wala pala yung effort natin apart from the work of Christ. Meaning, kung wala ang Dios, hindi natin kakayanin ang lahat. So friends, none of us are truly self-made, kasi lahat tayo, we’re totally dependent on God. Sya kasi yung totoong pwedeng mag-empower sa atin.
