Program Notes or Transcript

Class, class…are you ready for today’s English idiom lesson.   Today’s English idiom is “turning over a new leaf.”   Okay, enough of the whiny teacher bit, but he is right:  When you decide to do something different to change your life for the better, you are turning over a new leaf.  Hi this is Doug Flemming making some positive changes on this edition of Take Five.   Send me your personal testimonies of change to radio@wmc-ap.org.   Take Five is a production of WM Communications!  I know it’s no longer New Years, but it’s never too late to make a resolution.   In fact, today is a perfect day to make a positive change.  But every lasting change requires some help.  So today I’m gonna finish explaining the ABCs & Ds of change.   Last time I suggested that we need to  “A” - Assume responsibility for our own lives,  and “B” - Believe that we CAN change.  And now for letter “C” - You need to Clarify what you really want.  In order to do that I recommend that you write down the things that you really value and the things that you really want to change.  What actions or attitudes in your life are inconsistent with your values? Those are the things you’ll need to work on.   Your values should lead to vision.  Your desires should lead to direction.  And your roles in life, should lead to your goals in life.   I’ll conclude with point “D” after this tune on Take Five.

Today’s Music: The Stand, Hillsong United

Positive music on a positive program, Take Five.  Alright, the final tip to help you keep your commitments to change: Letter “D” - Don’t wait to begin.  Do it now! Don’t make excuses.  Take the steps and get the help you need to make the changes you know you need to make.  So, assume responsibility for your own life, believe that you can change, clarify the things you want to change, and do it!  Go for it.  Today is the first day of the rest of your life!  Make it count.
