Program Notes or Transcript

Finders keepers, losers weepers” or so the childhood saying goes and the more valuable the find the happier the finder. Recently I found a nice wrist watch. No one claimed it so here it is on my wrist today, what an incredible find! Hi, this is Doug Flemming, for Take Five, compliments of the Church of the Nazarene, and its time for you to contact me.  Send me an email or text and you’ll find yourself a new friend.  My address is radio@wmc-ap.org.    Today on Take Five I’ve got an inspiring story about an even more incredible find, but lets get in the mood with this cool tune from MercyMe.

Today’s Music: Word of God Speak, MercyMe

Forty years ago, in Stavropol, Russia, Stalin ordered that all Bibles be confiscated and Christians be sent to prison. Ironically, most of the Bibles were not destroyed, but were stored in a warehouse. In 1994 a Co-Mission team was permitted to distribute those old Bibles. They hired local Russian Laborers to load their trucks. One young worker, a hostile atheist, was found in the corner of the warehouse, weeping, a Bible in his own hands. Intending to steal it for himself, he had picked his own grandmother’s Bible off the shelf! Her signature was on the front page. Today, that young Russian is in the process of being transformed by the very Bible that this grandmother was persecuted for. Friend, pick up God’s Word today and you too will find something incredible.  If you don’t have a bible of your own, contact us and we’ll instruct you on how to get one.  May God bless you as you seek His word and Find His ways.
