We all need to take breaks in our work day to refresh ourselves, renew our minds, connect with friends and colleagues, get some exercise, grab a cup of coffee and feed our stomachs. So, the program Take Five is designed to be your daily break time companion, with a daily dose of inspirational message and music, to give you the spiritual and emotional lift you need in the midst of your busy life. Check out Take Five and then post your comments, suggestions, questions or requests.

Care (C-A-R-E) is a small, four letter word, but when practiced, care can have a powerful impact on those around you. But, how do we demonstrate care? Hi this is your caring friend Doug Flemming, with another edition of Take Five. Let me know you care by sending me an email or text. My address is radio@wmc-ap.org. The Book, “Body & Soul, suggests that care is best demonstrated by listening. And we can improve our listening skills by practicing the CARE method: First of all, Connect with others non-verbally. Use your eyes, ears and your posture to show that you are listening carefully. Secondly, Attend to a person’s words. Showing interest in another’s conversation demonstrates that you care about their feelings and opinions. Third, Reflect on what others are saying. Be quiet and still and carefully process what you are hearing. According to St. James, Everyone should be quick to listen and slow to speak. And finally, Empathize with the other person’s feelings. Try to identify with and understand your partner’s viewpoint. Enjoy this carefully chosen song about careful listening, right here on Take Five.Today’s Music: Listen to Our Hearts, Geoff Moore & Distance
If we listen to other people with CARE (connection, attention, reflection, empathy), they will know that we really do care. Be a doer of God’s word, be slow to speak and quick to listen. Show someone today that you care by lending a listening ear. Friend, if you need a listening ear, please contact us. We’re here for you. Until next time, be careful.
