Program Notes or Transcript

Remember my talking printer…the one I told you about it a few days ago?  Well it’s got another message for us today…on Take Five. Hi this is Doug Flemming with you for the next five minutes with great music and inspirational thoughts. Take Five is brought to you by the Church of the Nazarene and this station.  My printer says two things: “printing started” and “printing complete”.  No matter how long or how short the print project is the printer always says these two messages.  The problem is, the printer will speak these phrases regardless of the quality of my work.  Even if my work is full of errors the printer will still say “printing complete.”  It doesn’t say “good job”…”great report”….nor does it correct me “oops you missed a few words.”  But, in life, we have some standards or guidelines to help us measure our progress, not only our progress but our quality.   Regarding progress, even when life is difficult and we feel like quitting we are reminded that God is in control of the results.  St. Paul reminds us “that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion.”  God started the work and he is interested in our progress. That’s why we are told to keep to “fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter or finisher of our faith.” He is the one who will see us through. So hang in there, God is not finished with you yet!

Today’s Music: All Glory to God, Kathy Troccoli

Regarding quality control, I am reminded of an old saying, “all’s well that ends well.”  That means if the outcome is positive then its worth all the effort. Just as God is interested in our progress, He’s also interested in our productivity.  He is our quality control manager.  He doesn’t just want us to finish.  He wants us to finish well.  You are created in Christ Jesus for good works… He has chosen you to bear good fruit…fruit that will last…that’s quality!  So be encouraged today.  God is on your side.  He promises to be with you till the very end.  So put your trust in Him, keep your eyes fixed on Him, obey Him and allow Him to create quality in your life.
